Deep Fried Chicken


8 pieces of chicken

2 cups all purpose flower

3 tbsp Hinds White Pepper

2 tsp salt

3 tbsp Hinds Chicken Spice

1 cup corn flakes or bread crumbs

1 cup Hinds Original Southern Coating

6 eggs

500 ml vegetable oil

1 lemon (quartered)


Mix salt, pepper, flour and chicken spice in a shallow tray and set aside

Mix breadcrumbs or corn flakes and southern coating in shallow tray and set aside

Whisk eggs in a large bowl and set aside

Meanwhile heat oil in saucepan or deep fryer to medium high heat

Method for dredging chicken

Place chicken in flour, chicken spice mix making sure to coat the chicken fully individually

Place chicken pieces individually in egg mix

Place in breadcrumb mix, shake off excess mix and place on wire rack

Fry 4 pieces at a time until blood runs from chicken pieces

Heat oven to 190 degrees and bake for a further 20mins

Serve with fries and lemon slices, enjoy!!
